  • Parking is in designated areas only — arrive early on summer weekends.
  • Coming by boat? Fastrac's water taxi stops at Island View.

Hours & the gate

Open 9am to sunset every day of the year. The gate closes 30 minutes after sunset — please be packed and rolling by then. Show your online pass or pay at the gate; shelters are reservation-only, so book ahead.

Once you're inside, there are no refunds for weather. Check the forecast, bring shade, and remember the lake is usually calmest in the morning.

The store has snacks and drinks; most guests bring a cooler and grill at a shelter.

How old do I need to be to buy a day pass?

You must be 18 or older to purchase a day pass online. Guests under 18 are welcome at Island View when appropriately accompanied.

Do you close in winter?

No — Island View is open 9am to sunset year-round, and winter is eagle season.
